THE ROUTE

Five walking days through Cappadocia.

Our plan follows a proven inn-to-inn line from Taşkınpaşa through Mustafapaşa, Ortahisar, Çavuşin and Uçhisar, finishing in Göreme — about 71 km / 44 mi overall.

FINDING YOUR WAY

Download the route before you walk.

The valleys have many intersecting paths, so this is not a route to follow by signs alone. Keep the current GPX or offline map on your phone and carry backup navigation.

See navigation and trail tips ↗ (new tab)

The walk links existing Cappadocia valley paths into a five-day inn-to-inn journey. Use the current downloadable route for navigation rather than relying on the overview map alone.

02 / CHOOSE YOUR SUPPORT

Your walk. Your way of travelling.

You can change this as you plan.

03 / MAKE ROOM FOR THE WALK

The whole trail, or your part of it.

Start with the route length. Then allow time to enjoy it.

Five-day valley crossing

The recommended HutHikes plan: five walking days, five distinct overnight towns and a Göreme finish.

Walking-day ranges are planning estimates, not a booked daily itinerary. Choose actual overnight stops and check stage distances before reserving. Rest days add time; they do not shorten walking stages.

04 / THE PLACES ALONG THE WAY

Shape the days around the stays.

The appeal is the overnight progression: quiet Mustafapaşa, castle-side Ortahisar, walking-focused Çavuşin, elevated Uçhisar and a celebratory finish in Göreme. Primary stays below are independently bookable examples, not mandatory package hotels. Trail-access figures are conservative planning offsets to the mapped stage arrival/departure area; the hotel pin and route map make the relationship visible.

Know how close the bed is before you book

On the trail means the property or official route source places the stay directly on the Way—no separate off-route transfer is normally planned. Near / stage stop means the stay is at a named stage stop, start or finish; the access note gives the most specific credible distance or relationship we found.

Use the named stay as your map anchor. "View hotel on route map" pins the property alongside approximate stage places. The dotted connections are not the surveyed trail and cannot measure a hotel-to-trail distance. "Open in Google Maps" helps inspect paths and directions; check the official route map for the marked trail. Any access distance or time below comes from its linked source and is labelled when property-reported.

LUGGAGE TRANSFERS

Walk with a daypack.

Move your main bag between overnight stops, or carry everything yourself.

You can walk this route with a daypack. The Cappadocia Trail offers hotel-to-hotel luggage transport as an optional extra, and several self-guided packages include luggage transfers. If you book the hotels yourself, arrange each bag move in advance rather than assuming the hotel will forward it.

BOOKABLE LUGGAGE OPTION

The Cappadocia Trail

Optional hotel-to-hotel luggage transport lets you carry only a small daypack. The current published add-on is €95 per person; confirm the price and conditions when booking.

Get there—and get back—simply

Fly into Nevşehir Kapadokya (NAV) or Kayseri (ASR), reach Cappadocia by road, then arrange the start transfer to Taşkınpaşa. Finish in Göreme, which is the easiest place to add a balloon morning or extra sightseeing day.

Open the practical transport guide

Arriving

Nevşehir is the closer airport; Kayseri generally has more flight choice. Pre-book an airport shuttle or private transfer to the first night's accommodation.

Reaching the walking start

The standard route begins at Taşkınpaşa rather than at the first overnight hotel. Arrange the morning vehicle transfer before departure; supported packages include or specify this connection.

Finishing in Göreme

Stay at least one finish night in Göreme. An extra day creates weather flexibility for a balloon flight and time for the open-air museum or a non-walking excursion.
